New Entrant Transition Programme

At Clinton Primary School we have close ties with our local Early Childhood Education providers Poupoutunoa Kindergarten and Clinton Playcentre.

We recognise that all learners are different and have unique needs so we work with parents to tailor a transition programme to best suit each child’s needs.

 

This includes:

Four year old social vists (Piwakawaka Club)

Our future New Entrants and their parents are invited to come in as a group and spend a classroom session and morning tea with Room 1 Kuriwao. This provides an opportunity to become more familiar with our school environment and the friendly staff and students at Clinton Primary School. Piwakawaka Club runs 1-2 times each term, depending on the 4 year olds in the community.

School visits

In the month before your child starts school they will typically have 1-2 half day visits followed by 1-2 full day visits.  Contact Whaea Bébhinn at bebhinnstokes@clinton.school.nz to arrange a suitable time for transition visits.
